Black Lentil Stew

Black lentil stew. Inspired by this recipe from Smitten Kitchen! So much flavor! 


If you follow the recipe and do the extra items outlined below, you'll get what I made in the photo. 



  • 1 c. - Carrots: sliced rounds

  • 1 c. - Celery: small dice

  • 1 heaping Tbsp. - Tomato Paste:  *saute that with the vegetables to create that fond so you can deglaze the pan with the water later*

To Finish: a half of lime squeezed when you're done cooking and it's seasoned with enough salt the way you like it.
